You’ll start your tour by heading from the port to the Grand Mosque. It’s one of the largest in the world, and can accommodate 20,000 worshippers at one time. On your visit, you can admire the beautiful artworks, chandeliers and the one single piece of carpet covering
the complete prayer hall. You’ll need to dress appropriately for the mosque visit so please be prepared to cover shoulders and knees, as well as hair for ladies. Then it’s time to bargain in the oldest souq of Oman, Muttrah Souq.
Enjoy some time shopping in the mix of the old and the new amidst a dazzling 18th century merchant’s house. From here, you’ll visit Bait Al Zubair Museum, which was founded as a house in 1914 and was opened as a museum in 1998 to showcase Omani heritage. After this, you’ll visit the old town of Muscat and Fort Mirani, completed in 1587, as well as Fort Jalali, which has been completely renovated as an exclusive museum of Omani heritage and culture for visiting heads of state and royalty. Your next visit is to the official home of His Majesty Sultan Haitham Bin Tariq – Al Alam Palace. The palace is flanked by two forts, and makes for a stunning sight. After a photo stop here, you’ll return to the port.
