Take in views of Venice by boat, and explore the stunningly ornate Scuola Grande di San Rocco.

Home to some of the Renaissance painter’s best works, covering the walls and ceilings, this is a truly unique site.

In true Venetian style, you’ll begin this tour on the water, departing the pier by gran turismo boat or water taxi with your knowledgeable local escort. As you leave the port, your boat will cross the Giudecca Canal – one of the major waterways in the city. As you sail along, you’ll have a perfect view to admire the stunning Venetian buildings. Your guide will be on hand to let you know more about Venetian history, as well as tell plenty of fascinating stories about this unique town.

Once you arrive into the centre of Venice, your boat will dock. There’s then a gentle walk through the historic streets for about 15-20 minutes to Scuola Grande di San Rocco. A ‘scuola’ is the headquarters of a religious guild, and this lay cofraternity was founded in 1478 - the richest scuola in Venice. There are more than 60 paintings by Tinoretto preserved in their original setting, in a beautiful Renaissance building with the same delicate decoration and ornate carving that has been there since its construction. After the guided tour, it’s time to head back to the boat and begin your journey back to the ship.
