Originally established to protect the middle and lower stretches of the River Krka, the park covers an area of 142 square miles; running from the Adriatic to the inland Croatian mountains.
Your experience begins in the upper part of the park, where the force of the river was once harnessed to power different mills. Today, these mills have been turned into museums demonstrating the traditional methods of flour production and fabrics softening, amongst other skills.
Take some time to stroll around the upper park or refresh yourself in the mills’ cafe before walking down the hill to Skradinski Buk, the biggest and most famous waterfalls in the park. Cascading down 17 steps from a height of 147 feet, these majestic waterfalls are truly a sight to behold.
A short boat ride back to Skradin for lunch in a local restaurant, then it’s back to the pierfor your return to the ship.
