This tour is the perfect way to discover as much as possible about Mykonos in just one day.
You’ll have a chance to learn about the history, culture, and food, and spend some free time absorbing the beauty of this island. Your day begins atthe pier in Mykonos, where you’ll board one of the local ferries to the spectacular island of Delos. Located at the center of the Cyclades island group, Delos is a UNESCO world heritage site. According to Greek Mythology, Delos is the birthplace of Apollo, God of Light, and his twin sister, Artemis, Goddess of the Moon.

Considered a sacred island, pilgrims came to Delos from all over Greece, making it a prosperous trading port. Now uninhabited, the entire island is an archeological site, with temples, mosaics, sculptures, buildings and antiquitiesto explore. It’s easy to explore on foot, but remember to wear comfy shoes and bring some water and snacks – there are no stores on the island.

When yourferry returnsto Mykonos, you’ll then board a motor coach to the traditional village of Ano Mera. Located at the center of the island, the cobbled streets and traditional buildings are enchanting. A typical Greek lunch will be served at a local taverna, and you’ll be treated to a folk show as you dine. After lunch, pay a visitto the lovely 16th century Panagia Tourliani Monastery, dedicated to the Virgin Mary.

Next, it’s back to Mykonos Town for a guided walking tour. Known as ‘Chora’ by the locals, Mykonosis a picturesque town with a labyrinth- like maze of tiny streets, white houses with colourful windows and balconies, and red- roofed churches. Cars aren’t allowed in the town for most of the day, so it’s perfect for exploring on foot.

When your guided tour concludes, you can spend time sight seeing on your own, or head back to the ship on a shuttle service. This full and fascinating day will leave you feeling like you know the real Mykonos.
