Rising above the sparkling Adriatic, it’s always been a place with strong links to the sea.
Starting with a guided tour of the historic centre, you’ll hear stories of the ancient walls, built to defend against sea-faring enemies.
You’ll also get the chance to admire the castle, set like a jewel on a small peninsula. Originally part of the city’s protection against pirates, it was used as a prison until as recently as the 1990s.
Not far from the buzz of the city, you’ll find a much more rural way of life. Our next stop is a typical farm where we’ll immerse ourselves in Apulian traditions.
We’ll discover more about the production of the world-famous mozzarella and classic Italian focaccia - and finish the tour with time to sample the products, too. Delizioso!
