Cultural Tour

You’ll start your tour by heading from the port to the Grand Mosque. It’s one of the largest in the world, and can accommodate 20,000 worshippers at one time. On your visit, you can admire the beautiful artworks, chandeliers and the one single piece of carpet covering
the complete prayer hall. You’ll need to dress appropriately for the mosque visit so please be prepared to cover shoulders and knees, as well as hair for ladies. From here, you’ll depart for the Royal Opera House. This opened in Muscat in 2011, and opera has become one of the major highlights of the year in Muscat.

Every year, international artists perform in Oman and people travel from all over the world to attend the performances. Next, it’s time for the National Museum of Oman, which opened in 2016. Take some time to explore this fascinating building and all the exhibits. Your next visit is to the official home of His Majesty Sultan Haitham Bin Tariq – Al Alam Palace. The palace is flanked by two forts, and makes for a stunning sight. After a photo stop here, you can return to the port, or stop at Muttrah Souq to explore on your own.
