We begin in a place steeped in peace and purpose, the 6th-century Basilica of St. John, built on the hillside where it’s believed the Evangelist himself was laid to rest. Today, its ruins may be worn by time, but the feeling? Still powerful. And the views? Simply stunning.

Then it’s onwards to Ephesus, one of the best preserved ancient cities in the world, and once the beating heart of the Roman Empire. You’ll enter through the Magnesia Gate and walk along gleaming marble streets once trodden by emperors.
